lovely colors DJ. I will offer some criticism though :) When photographing landscapes it is "good" to try to keep the ground and the sky from meeting right in the middle. Its referred to as the "rule of thirds" where you try to break your composition into thirds, like 2/3 ground 1/3 sky - get it? Also - try using a shallower depth of field in a shot like this. The background trees aren't super super pretty in this picture - they;re just normal trees you know? not like a knargled weird tree or a huge willow. If thats the case maybe think about using a 2.5 aperture or something low like that - that way only the fence would be in focus and the back would turn into a nice tonal blur. Im enjoying watching you get into using your camera!
Thanks for the criticsm. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy that a person who's work I respect is passing along some advice. I really really apprecitate it. I'll be sure to throw some new stuff on here and can't wait for some comments here and there.
Love it! I like the balance between the fence post and the trees and power line in the background.
ReplyDeletei love the tones Deej.
